#Bosnia and #Herzegovina (BiH), with a population of 3.8 million, became independent from the former Yugoslavia on 3 March 1992, following a referendum that was boycotted by ethnic Serbs.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was offered an #EU membership perspective during the EU-Western Balkans summit in Thessaloniki (2003), subsequently restated in Sofia (2018), Zagreb (2020), Brdo (2021) and, most recently, #Brussels (2022). Trnovačko jezero (Trnovacko #lake), smješteno iznad 1500 metara nadmorske visine, plijeni svojom ljepotom.

Jezero je okruženo planinskim gorostasima: Maglićem, Biočem, Volujkom, Vlasuljom i Trnovačkim Durmitorem.

Specifičnost ovog jezera je, osim što je romantičnog srcolikog oblika, da do njega mogu doći samo istinski ljubitelji prirode.

Iako je jezero smješteno u Crnoj Gori, najlakši pristup jezeru je iz #BiH.

Anđela Samardžić obradovala #BiH javnost dobrim nastupom na Mediteranskim igrama u Alžiru

Naime, Anđela je osvojila bronzanu medalju na četvrtom takmičarskom danu Mediteranskih igara.

Na putu do medalje pobijedila je predstavnice Francuske i Alžira, a izgubila je od turske džudistkinje.

Bila je to ujedno četvrta medalja za Bosnu i Hercegovinu na ovim Igrama.

The #Vrbas is a major #river with a length of 250 kilometres, in western #Bosnia and #Herzegovina. It is a right tributary of the Sava river.

The word vrba means “willow” in #Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian, and a number of weeping willow trees adorn the river banks.

It lent its name to one of the provinces (banovinas) of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Vrbas Banovina.

The Vrbas river appears at the southern slope of the #Vranica mountain near the town of Gornji Vakuf, at around 1,530 metres (5,020 ft) above sea level and it drains central part of the northern slopes of the Dinaric mountain massif. It empties into the Sava river at around 90 metres (300 ft) above sea level. The total length of the main watercourse is around 250 kilometres (160 mi).

Strong Earthquake hits #Bosnia and #Herzegovina

A magnitude 4.7 #earthquake hit the area of Siroki Brijeg this morning, according to the #European #Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The earthquake occurred at 08.07, and was felt in other #BiH cities as well.

According to citizens, the earthquake was felt in #Sarajevo, #Mostar, #Siroki Brijeg and #Zenica.

The epicenter was 10 kilometers from Siroki Brijeg, at a depth of 5 kilometers.
